About this deal

Other stuff you can’t do that I wish you could: go between zoomed-in images in review mode without zooming out. The poor high-ISO performance of the Nikon 1 system makes it a bad choice for lowlight photography but this lens will make sure that you could squeeze every bit of light available to you.

Which one is assigned to aperture, making it one of the most important controls for an aperture priority shooter like myself?

I think ALL digital cameras should offer the option of seeing a preview image with no information overlays. The camera market is no longer interested in most people, because most people aren’t interested in cameras. Mine came in last week, and I agree: it’s sharp, has good contrast, and can be shot wide open all day. The J line might have started out as a point-and-shoot with interchangeable lenses, but by the J5’s time, things had changed.

The rendering is nice as well despite not being on-par with lenses that were made for film or full-frame, it is what it is and it does its job beautifully despite all of the physical limitations imposed on its development. And yes, I’m also aware that Apple has more now than just computers, but I’m seeing friends and family members all, and I mean all, switch over to Apple.Overall: For the most part, exactly what you’d expect from a low cost, fast, normal prime with one exception: not much loss of contrast wide open. He has been passionate about photography since he was a child, and his love for the art has only grown stronger over the years. I bought the V1 less than two weeks ago and have been enjoying it very much, though the 10-30mm is only fair lens. For example, the V1 has extremely precise metering and Auto WB, vastly superior to the both systems the E-M10 employs.

This lens, designed for the Nikon CX-format sensor has an angle of view roughly equivalent to a 50mm lens on a 35mm camera body. That’s not terrible, but don’t think you’re going to solve the Nikon 1 small sensor problem with just an f/1.Thanks for following my work, if you liked this article please share this with your friends so it will get more views.

The aperture blades in my sample don’t make for a perfect round on out of highlights, and it tends to produce a considerable amount of longitudinal aberration, as well, even stopped down.If you want exhaustive image quality details, go back to some of the contemporary reviews (but don’t start at DPreview, which passed on the camera — maybe they smelled the stink of death on it).
